Manchester United and Manchester City will be cleared to compete in Europe together along sister clubs Nice and Girona.
The two Manchester clubs qualified for Europe next term after City won the Premier League to ensure a spot in the Champions League and United won the FA Cup to book a Europa League spot.
However, La Liga side Girona and Ligue 1 side Nice are part of City and United’s mult-club ownership model.
Uefa rules stipulate that clubs under the same ownership cannot compete in the same competition.
However, the rules were put in place before the wider growth of the multi-club ownership model and Uefa has heard the case put forward by City and United.
Both clubs have stressed that there’s no overlap in the operation of the sister clubs.

Uefa have put forward a temporary alternative arrangement to clubs that could fall foul of their rules, allowing them to transfer or assign duties from the club to a third party while the clubs compete in the same competition.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe, who owns Nice, acquired a 27.7% stake in United in January.
City Football Group owns a host of clubs around the world, including Girona and New York City FC.
