Diane Abbott has vowed to stand in her east London seat in the General Election ‘by any means necessary’.
Britain’s longest-serving Black MP has represented Hackney North since the late 1980s, enjoying a hefty 58.4% majority.
But whether she will stand under a red banner remains up in the air after an investigation into her remarks suggesting Jewish people don’t face racism.

Yesterday evening, Metro.co.uk attended a rally attended by hundreds of locals and supporters of Abbott, who told the crowd she will ‘always stand’ with her constituents.
‘I am not going to allow myself to be intimated or frightened by forces beyond all of our control,’ she added.
As of this morning, the Labour leadership has yet to announce its candidate.</p>
