A former media aide to ex-President Muhammadu Buhari, Bashir Ahmad, has commended Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State on his achievements in the past year in office.
Ahmad, however, vowed to criticize Governor Abba for his shortcomings whenever necessary.
Posting on X, the former presidential aide prayed for more wisdom to enable the governor navigate the state to greater heights.
According to Ahmad: “Congratulations to Gov. Abba K. Yusuf on his one year in office. We commend him for his achievements and criticize him where we have observed shortcomings.
“Overall, I wish him the best and pray for more wisdom as he continues to navigate ways to take our state to greater heights.”
This is coming amid the heightened tension in Kano State over the Emirate tussle.
Governor Yusuf had reinstated Muhammed Sanusi as the 16th Emir of Kano while dethroning Aminu Ado Bayero.
Last week, the Kano State House of Assembly had amended a 2019 law which was used by Abdullahi Ganduje, governor of Kano at the time, to depose Sanusi as Emir.
The 2019 legislation had balkanised the emirate into Bichi, Rano, Karaye, Kano and Gaya.
The repealed version sacked the Emirs of all the jurisdictions.
However, while all the deposed Emirs have complied with the governor’s directive to vacate their palaces, Bayero has not
