Profiting From Packaging Processed Chicken/Turkey

A business with increasing popularity and high investment returns is engaging in the processing and frozen food business.

Speaking with an anonymous shop attendant at Reynora Foods at Arepo along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway said, this is a thriving business that owners will profit from maximally when all the process are put in place for the packaging of frozen foods as there exist a high demand for the products.

It is gathered that the processing of frozen foods like chicken and turkey products requires a lot to achieve that daily  commercial values attached to this type of business, as most Nigerians desires daily earnings from businesses they engage-in.

Though, the prices of the frozen fish products are debatable due to the current economic situation due to price being unstable. Findings revealed the prices of fish and turkey varies with  20 kg Titus costing N4,700, Hake 15kg-N3,400,Tilapia 10kg for sale at N3,900.

 

Business Requirements

The process includes a keenly observed preparation to ensure that the poultry birds (Chicken and Turkey) are properly cleaned and inspected for any defects or abnormalities as these includes portioning of this products.

Hence, portioning of these birds depends on the packaging preferences and customer needs, as customers may choose to portion the birds into specific cuts or leave them whole when they are to purchase it.

It is pertinent to note that the process of packaging involves the use of appropriate packaging materials such as plastic wrap, vacuum-sealed bags, or freezer-safe containers,as the owners should ensure the packaging is airtight to prevent freezer burn and contamination.

Similarly, the labelling of each package with essential information such as the type of poultry (chicken or turkey), date of packaging, and any other relevant details such as weight or portion size is important.
