The FA Cup draws to a close on Saturday as Manchester City look to complete a domestic double with victory over rivals Manchester United in the final at Wembley.
It marks a repeat of last year’s final, which Pep Guardiola’s side won courtesy of a brace from former captain Ilkay Gundogan.
While City will be looking to follow up on their Premier League triumph, Erik ten Hag will look to end his Old Trafford stint on a high, with reports suggesting the Dutchman will be sacked following the final.
But there will be more than just a trophy on the line at Wembley, with the winning team also set to receive a significant cash prize.
Ahead of the final, here’s a look at the prize money on offer for this season’s FA Cup.
How much prize money do the winners get?
The winner of Saturday’s showpiece event will pocket £2million from the FA’s prize fund, with the runner-up also taking home a healthy £1m.

However, that prize money is only for the final, with clubs also receiving bonus cash for winning each round in the lead-up to the final.
As both finalists entered the competition in the third round, the winner will earn a total of £3.9m in prize money when taking into account all the previous rounds’ winnings.

While the money doled out to the winners is impressive, it’s hardly life-changing figures for Premier League clubs.
For teams further down the pyramid who manage to upset the odds, however, the financial rewards for a fabled cup run can be hugely significant.

Sixth-tier Maidstone United, for example, earned themselves more than £350,000 in prize money alone after they pulled off several upsets – including against eventual Championship promotion winners Ipswich Town – to reach the tournament’s fifth round.

Second-tier Coventry City, who fell to a dramatic semi-final defeat against United at Wembley, pocketed more than £1.5m in prize money for their run to the final four.
