John Terry admits he is ‘gutted’ by Mauricio Pochettino’s shock departure from Chelsea.
It was confirmed on Tuesday evening that Pochettino had mutually agreed to leave Stamford Bridge following a mixed season.
Chelsea were on course for a mid-table finish for much of the campaign but enjoyed a fine run at the end of the season to climb to sixth and qualify for Europe.
Pochettino was expected to continue in the job following Chelsea’s encouraging run of form and Blues legend Terry admits he is ‘gutted’ to see the Argentine leave.
Chelsea will now begin their search for Pochettino’s replacement and are admirers of Ipswich Town boss Kieran McKenna, Brentford manager Thomas Frank and Burnley’s Vincent Kompany.
Reacting to Pochettino’s surprising departure from Chelsea, Terry wrote on Instagram: ‘Gutted to see Pochettino leave.
‘I just hope we don’t sign or sell any players until we get a new manager in.’
