The Benue State Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has revealed it is fully ready to participate in the forthcoming local government elecrions in the state.
According to the party, the decision to participate in the electoral process was taken after an extensive consultation with its leaders and members.
The chairman of the party, John Ngbede, disclosed this during an expanded caucus meeting of PDP on Monday in Makurdi .
DAILY POST recalls that the Benue State Independence Electoral Commission, BSIEC, made the declaration of the coming council election at a stakeholders meeting in Makurdi recently.
Ngbede stressed that PDP will participate in the election and will resist the APC to bring development to the grassroots, as it was when the party was in power in the state.
He said, “We have set machinery in motion in line with the guidelines set by the BSIEC.
“We shall begin the sale of forms to aspirants and screenings of candidates will commence soon.
“We have announced the cost of the chairmanship form, which is N150,000 and councilorship form N is N75,000.”
