Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice has revealed what he told co-chair Josh Kroenke after the Gunners painfully missed out on the Premier League title.
Rice, along with his Arsenal teammates, looked gutted after the victory over Everton on Sunday after learning that Manchester City had beaten West Ham.
Arsenal needed City to drop points in the final round of games to clinch the top-flight title but Pep Guardiola’s side cruised past the Hammers at the Etihad.
It meant that Arsenal’s season resulted in heartbreak for the second season in a row with only the Community Shield to add to their trophy cabinet.
Rice, though, who moved to the Emirates last summer in a £105m move from West Ham, is seeing the positives after his first campaign at Arsenal came to an end.
‘I was just speaking to Josh Kroenke on the pitch then,’ Rice told NBC Sports.
‘I just said, ‘It’s been everything I expected’ – the class levels of the club is just phenomenal from top to bottom.

‘How everything is run. How all the staff are. How the manager runs the club. From top to bottom it is an amazing place.
‘I knew there would be expectations coming here. It’s Arsenal and they’ve not won the Premier League in 20 years, just back in the Champions League.
‘I’ve tried not to put too much pressure on myself and take it game-by-game. In football, you get confidence from games, and as the season went on we grew more and more.

‘It’s been better than I ever expected it to be, my first season, and there is so much more to come from me as well.’
Fellow Arsenal star Kai Havertz was left furious after missing out on the Premier League title to City, labelling it as ‘not fair’.
Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard, meanwhile, has vowed that the north Londoners will ‘push to win everything’ next term.
