The Yobe State Government has launched a spiritual warfare against insurgents attacking electricity towers connecting the state to the national grid.
On Wednesday, Governor Mai Mala Buni led a team of Muslim clerics to the site of the towers.
The clerics recited the Quran and asked God to punish the vandals if they ever approached the towers again.
Students of the Holy Quran also participated in the recitation and prayer session.
During the ritual, cows were also sacrificed to Allah to expose the insurgents attacking the towers and their sponsors.
Lately, insurgents have been destroying electricity installations around Kasaisa village in Gujba Local Government Area of the state, a situation that has led to blackout in parts of the state.
The Yola Electricity Distribution Company (YEDC) said the insurgents attacked the towers in December 2023 and in February 2024.
