The toxicology test carried out on late music singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad has revealed that the singer’s cause of death cannot be determined.

While addressing the media after the coroner inquest on Wednesday, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Wahab Shittu, disclosed that the pathologist in his submission said that at the time the test was carried out, the body of the singer had already decomposed.

He said, “According to him (pathologist) the cause of death cannot be determined because by the time they conducted the test, the body had decomposed and that it is not possible for them to determine the cause of death. So, in summary, he is saying the cause of death cannot be ascertained. And when you say the cause of death cannot be ascertained, it means it is suspicious, it is not clear. No particular reason.”

Shittu said the pathologist further stated that the late singer may have died due to a reaction to certain drugs administered to him before he died.

He added, “He went further to say that he does not know whether it is those drugs that led to the death.”

PUNCH Healthwise had reported that the Director, Lagos State DNA and Forensic Centre, Dr Richard Somiari while testifying during a coroner’s inquest, disclosed that findings from

investigations into what led to the death of Mohbad might soon be made public.

PUNCH Healthwise reported that Mohbad, aged 27 years, died on September 12, 2023, and was buried the following day.

His death generated controversies, prompting the Lagos State Government to direct a coroner’s inquest into the death. His remains were subsequently exhumed.

However, no official proclamation has been made about the result of the medical examination since it was carried out, even though Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, tried to reassure Nigerians that no foul play will be involved.
