Manchester City’s star midfielder Phil Foden, No.1 goalkeeper Ederson and defender Ruben Dias have all returned in a huge triple injury boost.

Pep Guardiola confirmed the news ahead of City’s clash against Wolves at the Etihad on Saturday as they continue to fight Arsenal for the Premier League title.

Foden was a surprise omission from City’s victory over Nottingham Forest at the City Ground last time out, missing the 2-0 win after struggling with an illness.

Crowned 2024 FWA Men’s Footballer of the Year on Friday, Foden has conjured up 16 goals and seven assists across 31 Premier League games so far this term.

News of his return is a major boost to City and Guardiola was delighted to see him pick up his individual award from the Football Writers’ Association (FWA).

‘Congratulations to him!’ Guardiola said. ‘Always you can improve, until you retire, until you die.

‘If the football writers name him as Player of the Year, well done. He has played very well like the others here.

‘He’s played in a team of great players, his work ethic is amazing, the success belongs to him, not me.

‘Phil [Foden] is a great success for the Man City academy. Look how many came through and play all over the world.’

Meanwhile, Guardiola says his players are feeling ‘fresher in the mind’ and has told his side to go out and win all four remaining games to deny Arsenal again.

‘We’ve had a good week, players fresher in the mind, little details in tactics we worked on,’ Guardiola added.

‘Right now, I don’t have time to be thinking about new things, the matches come one after the other, Wolves next…

‘We have to win all 12 points, otherwise it’ll be difficult – Arsenal are so strong. It depends on us. One at a time, try to win games. No more complicated. I’d like to say what we’ve done in the past is going to happen again but nobody knows.’
