A slightly worse for wear Jamie Carragher asked Jadon Sancho to ‘join him for pints’ in Borussia Dortmund’s Yellow Wall in a hilarious post-match interview following the victory over Paris Saint-Germain.
As part of CBS Sports’ coverage of Wednesday’s Champions League semi-final, the Liverpool legend joined the German fans in their infamous south terrace stand, pictured enjoying a few lagers with the Westfalenstation regulars.
After the game, Carragher returned backstage to join Manchester United legend Peter Schmeichel on camera with CBS host Kate Abdo asking if he was ‘sober enough’ to do the segment.
A very merry Carragher admitted it was a ‘good point’, explaining he had ‘about eight pints’ with his ‘new family’ in the Yellow Wall over the course of the evening.
During the segment, Carragher spotted Sancho off camera with the winger having just turned in a wonderful display against the French champions.
With CBS pundits Thierry Henry and Micah Richards heard tittering off camera from the studio, Carragher repeatedly complemented the Dortmund fans while also asking Sancho what it was about the German side that resonates with him.
Sancho responded: ‘I came here at 17, they gave me the opportunity to play my professional football.
‘I’m delighted with all the staff and players who have welcomed me back so I always give it my everything in front of these fans.’
