Jason Wilcox has wasted no time getting down to business as Manchester United’s new technical director.
The former head of Manchester City’s academy was appointed as United’s new technical director this week, taking over from Darren Fletcher.
Wilcox left City in 2023 but served as Southampton’s director of football for just nine months after being poached by United.
The former Blackburn ace couldn’t resist the lure of returning to the north-west and the challenge of restoring United to their former glories.
He will eventually report into Dan Ashworth, who is currently serving gardening leave at Newcastle before joining as United’s new director of football.
Ashworth is not expected to join until beyond the summer transfer window, meaning Wilcox will be the main in charge this summer.

And, with such an important time ahead, Wilcox has wasted no time in getting to grips with life at the club.
Wilcox was in attendance at Wembley as United look to book their spot in a repeat of last season’s FA Cup final against Manchester City.
Coventry stand in United’s way, with the Red Devils heavy favourites against the Championship side.
However, United are without a host of defenders and Harry Maguire is the only recognised fit centre half.
