Will Young will no doubt leave fans delighted with his brand new music video that challenges ageism in the music industry.
The Leave Right Now singer, 45, has released a new song Falling Deep and an accompanying music video, ahead of his upcoming album Light It Up.
In a bold move, Will eschews the younger dancers you often see in music videos, with his slick new visual featuring dancers around his age.
The singer, who recently said he wants to become a Labour MP, said it was his decision to hire dancers in their 40s as he felt that there was too much of a focus on ‘youth’ when it comes to the performing arts.
The Evergreen singer explained: ‘I wanted to work with dancers my age as I think sometimes there can be such a focus on youth in the dance world for all performers, and older performers come with such grace and wisdom.
‘It was a fantastic day working with people my age. We all knew what a Nintendo Gameboy was.’
‘I think especially women can be overlooked when they age, so it felt very important to work with men and women for the project.’

The singer is delighted to be back and performing pop music again.
Over the past few years, the chart-topper has been dealing with his twin brother’s death by suicide and spent much of last year in a one-man theatre show about a bereaved man.
He said: ‘I think for me it was about finally feeling more content and being able to go back to embracing joyous unashamed pop music.’
He then referenced his beginnings on Pop Idol back in 2001: ‘Probably coming from a talent show and the snobbery that has come with that over the years, I would sometimes rail against pop but now I love it.’

The star has also announced that his album will have an ‘intimate tour’ that will include acoustic performances and stories from the singer.
Will commented: ‘I’m very excited to be going to a lot of places I haven’t been. I wanted to go to smaller venues so I could properly get around the country rather than just playing the big cities.’
Will Young’s new single Falling Deep is out today, and his album Light It Up is out on 9 August. General on-sale for the Light It Up Tour begins 26 April.
