Football transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, has disclosed that the race to sign Nigeria international Victor Osimhen is still open.
This is following reports that the striker is close to reaching an agreement with French champions Paris Saint-Germain.
Recall that the report added that Osimhen had agreed a four-year contract with the club.
Osimhen could serve as replacement for Kylian Mbappé who has concluded plans to join Real Madrid.
Romano said that PSG and Chelsea are very much interested in the 25-year-old.
“We can’t exclude PSG as a solution for Osimhen. They remain interested and appreciate him.
“For sure, he is one of the players they like, but they have still not decided on whether to go for him in the summer or not,” Romano said on his YouTube channel.
“The deal is not close or done now, it will take time to see what happens but PSG and Chelsea remain interested in Osimhen and the race remains open because there is a release clause no one is close to signing him now.
“So the race is absolutely open, these two clubs remain interested but at the moment it is the early stages of the story, nothing is advanced yet with any club.”
