There are delays to train services running southbound between London St Pancras and London Blackfriars following an electricity supply failure.

Long delays are expected at one of London’s busiest station’s as people start to plan their weekend travels.

While the line has now reopened, services are delayed by up to 35 minutes in the area.

These delays have impacted passengers travelling to Gatwick Airport, who could miss their flights.

Social media user Fryni Panayidou said on X: ‘Can you provide an update for those of us sitting on a train just outside St Pancras for the last 35 mins? Half of the passengers are heading to Gatwick. Will you compensate missed flights? Is there a plan to “extract” us?’

Thameslink confirmed this service and others are on the move and apologised to customers for the inconvenience.

Tickets are being accepted on journeys with other train companies.
