Prince William enjoyed a ‘low key’ trip to the pub with mum-in-law Carole Middleton last weekend.
But there was ‘no sign of Catherine’, the Princess of Wales, who has taken a break from royal duties following planned abdominal surgery in January and subsequent cancer diagnosis.
Richard Eden wrote in the Daily Mail: ‘I’m told he popped into a pub in North Norfolk at the weekend with his mother-in-law, who is said to have been staying with the Prince and Princess of Wales for Easter.
‘A patron tells me: “It was all very low-key, with no great fanfare. He just walked in and through the pub. He appeared to be with Carole Middleton.”’
Kate, 42, remains close to her parents Carole and Michael Middleton and siblings Pippa Matthews and James Middleton.
James, 36, shared a childhood photograph of him and his sister along with a personal message of support, after she confirmed she is undergoing treatment for cancer in an emotional video message.
His Instagram post said: ‘Over the years, we have climbed many mountains together. As a family, we will climb this one with you too.’
Mum Carole, 69, has reportedly been supporting Kate through her recovery at her home in Windsor.

William, 41, and Prince George attended an Aston Villa match together in their first public outing since the Princess of Wales’ cancer announcement.
The heir to the throne was seen smiling and applauding in the Villa Park stands in Birmingham with his eldest son on Thursday evening.
George, 10, sported an Aston Villa scarf as the pair celebrated the club’s 2-1 win against Lille in the first leg of the Europa Conference League quarter-final.
William was seen turning to his son to say something as he applauded Ollie Watkins’ opening goal for the club.
The family spent the Easter holiday together as they adjusted to Kate’s diagnosis, which was discovered in post-operative tests after major abdominal surgery.

Since revealing it, the Prince and Princess of Wales are said to be ‘enormously touched’ and ‘extremely moved’ by the public’s warmth and support.
The King, who has been carrying out low-key official duties behind palace walls, made his most significant public appearance at the Easter Sunday service since his own cancer diagnosis was announced at the start of February.
He was described by the palace as being ‘so proud’ of the princess for her courage in speaking out and is said to be in ‘the closest contact with his beloved daughter-in-law’.
