Taylor Swift is gonna have to shake it off, shake it off, after being overtaken on the rich list overnight.
One lucky winner in the Oregon Lottery has come forward to claim a huge $1.3billion jackpot (£1.049billion).
Pop superstar Taylor joined the Forbes billionaires list last week following the huge success of her Eras tour and music sales.
She was valued at $1.1billion and was the first musician to join the ranks solely based on her songs and performances – but this new lottery winner has just effortlessly bested Taylor.
The winner, who hasn’t been named while security checks and verification of the ticket takes place, matched all six Powerball numbers in Saturday’s jackpot.
And while they won’t be taking Taylor’s place on the celebrity billionaire list, it’s safe to say that their winnings are a huge, life-changing sum.
The winning ticket was bought at a Plaid Pantry convenience store in north-east Oregon.
Lottery director Mike Wells said: ‘This is an unprecedented jackpot win for Oregon Lottery.
‘We’re taking every precaution to verify the winner before awarding the prize money.’
The jackpot has a cash value of $621million (£490million) if the winner chooses to take a lump sum rather than an annuity paid over 30 years, with an immediate payout followed by 29 annual instalments.
