Video footage shows the moment a dad leapt into the sea after his daughter who got caught in a massive wave.
She was walking along a seawall in North Wollongong, Australia, alongside her dad when the wave swept her off her feet and into the sea.
The area was hit by a storm the day before which caused major flooding and strong waves because of high winds.
The video shows the little girl running along the seawall as her dad runs behind her.
Just seconds later, a massive wave engulfs the pair and sends the little girl flying into the sea.
The dad did not hesitate for a second and can be seen jumping over the seawall and into the sea after his little girl.
He then tries to stay afloat as he holds onto the daughter.
Eyewitnesses threw buoys into the sea to help the pair stay afloat as a rescue helicopter and emergency services arrived.

The dad and daughter did not suffer any injuries, despite being thrown across rocks in the waves.
David Graham who helped with the rescue told 7News the dad was exhausted when they pulled him out of the water ‘but he never let go of that kid.’
Another eyewitness Melinda Graham consoled the young girl’s mum who was left feeling ‘hysterical’.
A spokesperson for NSW Ambulance said the pair were treated for ingestion of minor amounts of water and small abrasions.
They were taken to hospital for the treatment in a stable condition.
