Mikel Arteta cracked up journalists in Monday’s press conference when asked if he had spoken to Bayer Leverkusen boss Xabi Alonso for tips to beat Bayern Munich.
The Gunners face Bayern Munich at the Emirates on Tuesday in the first leg of the Champions League quarter-final showdown.
The competition is a welcome distraction for Thomas Tuchel’s side, who have endured a miserable domestic campaign in Germany.
Bayern Munich currently sit a whopping 16 points behind Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga with Alonso masterminding a remarkable title charge this term.
Bayer Leverkusen smashed Bayern Munich 3-0 back in February and Arteta has refused to confirm whether or not he’s sat down for a chat with Alonso.
‘It’s a great question,’ Arteta said when quizzed if he had spoken to Alonso. ‘I’m not going to answer that!’
Reporters burst out into laughter after hearing Arteta’s response, seemingly amused with his coyness, before moving on to more questions.

Klopp said he is ‘100 per cent sure’ Arsenal will have no problems beating United when they face off next month if the Red Devils do not improve.
Arteta does not want to get involved in the Premier League title race mind games, though, as he said: ‘I can only talk about what we do.’
