More than a dozen Ted Baker shops are set to close their doors for the final time within days as the fashion brand falls into redundancy.

Some 15 Ted Baker shops will close down for good by Friday, April 19 because administrators Teneo say there is ‘no expectation’ they will become profitable.

11 of those shops will close down by April 19, with 120 staff set to lose their jobs, while four of them will also close as notices were served before the brand fell into administration, causing a further 100 redundancies.

On top of the 220 in-store redundancies, 25 head office staff will also lose their jobs, Teneo said.

This is the full list of branches closing from within days:

Benji Dymant, joint administrator said: ‘Ted Baker is an iconic British brand with strong partners around the world.

‘We would like to thank Ted Baker team members and partners for their ongoing efforts and support at this difficult time.

‘These store closures, whilst with a regrettable impact on valued team members, will improve the performance of the business, as Authentic continues to progress discussions with potential UK and European operating partners for the Ted Baker brand to bring the business back to health.’

Ted Baker fell into administration last month, after struggles began in 2019 when founder Ray Kelvin quit his role following harassment allegations.

The brand axed 160 jobs in 2020, calling 2019 a ‘challenging year’.

Ted Baker isn’t the only British brand struggling at the moment.

Last year saw high street staple Wilko shut its doors for the final time, while the Body Shop has dropped into administration and numerous food and drink chains have closed branches.
