A new book on missing tot Madeleine McCann will claim she is dead and point to the place her remains are ‘very likely hidden’.

Portuguese publisher Modocromia is preparing to launch the near-800-page book with ‘photos and maps’ on May 2.

The Lisbon-based firm says it is keeping the name of the author under wraps for the time being and is only referring to him as a ‘foreign detective’.

The English-speaking investigator has given a bizarre interview ahead of the book’s official presentation, wearing sunglasses and a black hoodie with the word ‘Truth’ emblazoned on the front.

He told host Dietmar Goetz on a show called Nightfly Private Talks Only broadcast on YouTube that his discoveries during a years-long investigation were a ‘game changer’.

He said he was ‘sure’ Madeleine was dead before adding: ‘The truth will come out with this book, the case will be solved and Maddie’s remains will be found.

‘The house of cards will fall with this book and it will be revealed by those who buried her but yes, there is a very high probability that I know where that is.’

He said he has contacted police, but did not receive a response, before going on to describe chief suspect Christian Brueckner, currently being tried in Germany for unrelated sex crimes he allegedly committed on the Algarve, as a scapegoat.

The interview is being used by the Portuguese publishers planning on releasing the book to promote it – but it was not immediately clear where and how the book will be sold.

A spokesman for Modocromia said copies would be made available in English and Portuguese during a press conference launch on May 2 at the Vila Gale Hotel in Lagos.

The publishers said in a marketing blurb for the book released yesterday: ‘A seven-year investigation has come to an end and shocking new evidence will be revealed, including the new timeline and actual time of death of Madeleine McCann, where Maddie was hidden for weeks, and where Maddie’s remains are very likely hidden.’

In a statement on its Facebook site, it added: ‘Modocromia Publishing has signed a contract with The Foreign Detective to publish a book that tells the truth about the Madeleine McCann case.’

Madeleine McCann’s parents previously lost a legal battle over a hurtful book called ‘Maddie: The Truth of Lie’ by controversial former PJ chief Amaral.

The couple took him to the European Court of Human Rights after years of litigation in his homeland over the book which accused them of covering up Madeleine McCann’s ‘accidental’ death.

The court upheld a freedom-of-expression decision by Portugal’s Supreme Court in September 2022.

Amaral launched a fresh attack on the McCanns by claiming they were ‘still suspects’ over their daughter’s disappearance in a subsequent Portuguese radio interview.

That was despite them having their ‘arguido’ status lifted more than 15 years ago and Brueckner becoming the current sole suspect.

It is not known if Amaral contributed in any way to the new book.
