As part of a measure to ensure food security and end hunger, the Plateau Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, says it will train 340 youths on specialised agricultural skills.
The Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Mr Bashir Datti, made this known in a statement on Thursday in Jos.
According to him, the training would be carried out in partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
The commissioner explained that the training, which would be in phases, would commence with 20 youths from each of the 17 Local Government Areas of the state.
According to him, the training, which aims at empowering youths and ensuring food sufficiency, is targeted at those between the ages of 18 and 35 years.
He added, “The application form for the training is free and will be available from Tuesday, April 2, to Friday, April 5, at the ministry’s headquarters in Jos, as well as Pankshin and Shendam Youth Centres respectively.
“All completed application forms are to be submitted within seven days at the same venue.”
