Gunman opens fire at primary school in Finland

Police were called to a primary school in the city of Vantaa 

A gunman has opened fire at a primary school in Finland, police have said.

Multiple people have been wounded at the Viertola primary school in the city of Vantaa, north of the capital, Helsinki.

It remains unclear if the victims are children or adults, and the condition they are in.

Police were called to the school at 8.08am UK time and a suspect has since been detained.

The school has around 800 students from first to ninth grade.
