A man has been killed in a head-on car crash after driving the wrong way down the M62.
Police received reports of a Vauxhall Corsa travelling westbound on the eastbound carriageway of the motorway at 2.06am yesterday.
Officers found the vehicle had collided with a VW Golf close to the Scammonden Bridge.

The male Corsa driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The VW Golf driver was seriously injured and taken to a local hospital.
Three fire engines attended the scene.
Police briefly both carriageways between Junctions 22 and 24 but have since reopened, National Highways North-West said.
The agency added: ‘There are no residual delays in the area.’
Police have launched an appeal for witnesses.
The force said: ‘The Major Collision Enquiry Team is investigating this collision and would like to hear from anyone who saw, or who has footage of the collision or the grey Vauxhall Corsa prior to it.’
