Robbie Williams’ brand new dance group Lufthaus are set to make their live UK debut at Creamfields this summer.

The British pop singer and songwriter, 50, started the group two years ago with frequent collaborators Tim Metcalfe and Flynn Francis.

While the band have already released a collection of singles, plus debut album titled Visions Volume 1, they’re yet to play live shows at any UK venue up to now.

But a statement on Robbie’s Instagram page has revealed that that’s all about to change, with the UK’s biggest dance festival set to play host to their first show on these shores.

The announcement said: ‘Just announced! A UK debut for Lufthaus, a brand-new electronic group of Robbie Williams, Tim Metcalfe & Flynn Francis, will be playing a very special set on Arc stage at Creamfields 2024.’

Lufthaus have been given the ‘sunset slot’ on the closing day of the festival, meaning that Robbie, Tim, and Flynn could be the last act festival goers see before heading home for another year.

Other acts on the line-up include hit factory Calvin Harris, dance legend Fatboy Slim, other popular acts including Tiesto and Martin Garrix, and number one artists Example and Eric Prydz.

Creamfields is an annual dance festival that began back in 1998 and usually takes place on the August Bank Holiday weekend. In 2024, the festival will run from August 22 to 25.

Its first festival was hosted in Winchester, Hamshire, before moving over to Liverpool, eventually finding a home in Daresbury in Cheshire, where it’s been hosted ever since 2006.

Speaking about Lufthaus’ debut album last year, Robbie said that an awful lot of personal feeling went into it and that the trio were pleased with the final product.

‘It’s our heart, our soul and our vision for what electronic music can be. With Flynn and Tim by my side, we’ve embarked on a musical journey that we’re eager to share with the world.’

Picking up from Robbie’s comments, Flynn said: ‘We had a lot of fun making this album, and I think that translates in the music.’

He added: ‘Each track is a sonic chapter in our journey, reflecting the evolution of our friendship and our collective experiences within electronic music. Every track tells a story, a memory, an emotion.’

Away from Robbie’s new groups, the Candy singer was in the headlines last month for comments he made about his old group, Take That, and his former bandmate Gary Barlow.

Robbie left Take That to go solo before the group’s split in 1996, briefly re-joining after their 2006 reformation between 2010 and 2014 – his relationship with Gary soured in the intervening years.

On Instagram, the Millennium hitmaker posted a portrait of Gary in his boy band days. Robbie wrote alongside the picture: ‘The animosity between me and Gary Barlow got really bad. But on Christmas Day we would play football and show each other photos of our families.’

He added: ‘Bless Gary, he had no clue, as neither did I, that he was in a band with a highly sensitive person who would take slights and grievances inwardly to the nth degree and then turn them into napalm.’
