Video footage shows a group of around 15 men brawling in the street as they hit each other with a plank of wood and – at one point – a suitcase.

The fight erupted in a residential area of Sparkhill in Birmingham on Wednesday night.

Footage shows the thugs pushing and shoving each other, before one picks up a plank of wood and smacks another around the head with it.

He then drops it and someone else picks it up and whacks a rival on the back.

A third man, meanwhile, is seen picking up a hard suitcase and hurling it another.

Cars were forced to stop as the fighting spilled onto the roads.

One local said: ‘Hyena tactics as usual, five on one.

‘Why have they got planks of wood? Hacksaw Jim Duggan wannabes.’

Hacksaw Jim Duggan was a WWE star in the ’80s and ’90s who used to whack opponents in the ring with a piece of 2×4 inch timber, before shouting ‘Hoooooo.’.

Another resident said: ‘Birmingham is really in the pits.’

While a third joked: ‘Medieval reenactment?’

West Midlands Police has been approached for comment.

Earlier this month footage was shared of a huge brawl at London bowling alley.

Several police vans were called to Tenpin in Bexleyheath, with at least one person taken to hospital as a result of the violence.
