JTI Nigeria GM Appointed Vice Chairman, LCCI Industrial Group

The general manager of Habanera Limited, a subsidiary of Japan Tobacco International (JTI), Thomas Adams has been appointed as the vice chairman of the Industrial Group of the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI).

According to the LCCI, Adams’ appointment is in ‘appreciation of his active role in the Nigerian economy and the recognition of JTI as a major stakeholder in the industrial sector.’ The Industrial Group of LCCI draws its membership from reputable organisations in Nigeria and focuses its activities on matters affecting stakeholders in the sector.

Responding, Adams said: “I am extremely pleased to accept the nomination to serve as the Vice-Chairman of the Industrial Group of the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry, LCCI. At JTI, we recognize the value industry Associations bring and we will continue to lend our support to strengthen their capacities to lead conversations that drive business growth.”

Adams is a seasoned leader with over two decades of experience in the tobacco industry, and has been GM, JTI Nigeria since 2021. Prior to this, he was the GM, JTI Israel and Market manager, JTI Cyprus, among other strategic positions, where he has demonstrated exceptional expertise in steering business units through the complexities of competitive international markets.

Last year, Mr Adams was appointed member of the Governing Council of the Nigeria Employers Consultative Association (NECA).
