Kate makes shocking admission about edited Mother’s Day picture

The picture drew much speculation on social media over small editing mistakes (Picture: Kensington Palace)

Kate Middleton has admitted she personally edited the photo of her with her kids released on Mother’s Day yesterday – and apologised for her poor skills.

In a post on X, formerly Twitter, she said: ‘Like many amateur photographers, I do occasionally experiment with editing.

‘I wanted to express my apologies for any confusion the family photograph we shared yesterday caused. I hope everyone celebrating had a very happy Mother’s Day. C’

The image, which was the first official picture of the Princess of Wales to be released since she underwent abdominal surgery in January, whipped up feverish speculation on social media.

Sharp-eyed viewers pointed out that Princess Charlotte’s sleeve was blurred, while sections of the backdrop did not line up properly.

A number of picture agencies, including PA, AFP, Reuters and AP, decided to withdraw the picture from their services due to apparent manipulation.
