Girl, 13, admits helping to kill her own mum and stuffing her body in a fridge

A teenage girl has admitted to helping her boyfriend kill her mum because she was going to stop the couple from moving in together.

The 13-year-old held her mum down while her 22-year-old boyfriend stabbed her in the head, neck and chest during a row in Maceio, Brazil on March 1.

She then sent WhatsApp messages to mum Flavia dos Santos Carneiro’s work colleagues telling them she was unwell to prevent suspicion, and stuffed her body in a fridge after wrapping her in a blanket.

A van driver raised the alarm four days later, after the alleged killer’s father hired him to take the fridge and dump it in the woods on the pretext he was throwing out old appliances.

Police say Flavia’s teenage daughter confessed to hitting her mum in the head, holding her down while her boyfriend stabbed her, and helping to clean up the crime scene.

She had been stabbed more than 20 times.

Police chief Thiago Prado said the boyfriend had also confessed, adding: ‘He said the victim’s daughter held her arms down and passed the knife to him before he stabbed her in the head, neck and chest.

‘Initially the boyfriend alleged self-defence but his story fell apart because of the number of blows the victim received.’

He said of their confessions: ‘We didn’t detect regret or see any tears.

‘The daughter sent WhatsApp messages to Flavia’s work colleagues saying she wouldn’t be in because she felt unwell and was going to the doctor’s.’

Neither the daughter nor the boyfriend have been named publicly by police.

The boyfriend’s father, aged 47, has also been arrested for assisting them in hiding the body.

Officers describe the boyfriend as a drug user who Flavia had banned from her home. They believe the argument began when her daughter told her she planned to move out and live with her boyfriend.
