Mum-of-two dies after suddenly falling sick on flight

A mother-of-two died after suddenly becoming sick aboard an American Airlines flight from the Dominican Republic to the US.

The 41-year-old woman was flying on Flight 2790 from Punta Cana to Charlotte, North Carolina, when she fell ill mid-flight and the plane was diverted to Turks and Caicos. She received CPR from flight crew members as a request was made for medical assistance at 6.12pm on Wednesday, stated the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force on Facebook.

Once the plane landed at Providenciales International Airport, ‘a medical team, along with police units, were dispatched, and the patient was transported to Cheshire Hall Medical Centre, where she died,’ wrote the police force.

The woman’s cause of death was pending an autopsy.

She is from Central Indiana, Fox 59 reported.

A Facebook user identified the woman as her sister-in-law.

‘We are in disbelief and our hearts are broken,’ wrote Stephanie Quinn wrote in a comment on the police force’s post.
