George Galloway has hit back at ‘little Rishi Sunak’ after the Prime Minister used a speech outside Downing Street to label him an ‘extremist’ who ‘glorifies Hezbollah.’

Speaking at a lectern outside the doors of No 10, Mr Sunak said the newly-elected MP for Rochdale ‘dismisses the horror of what happened on October 7’, ‘glorifies Hezbollah’ and is ‘endorsed by Nick Griffin, the racist former leader of the BNP’.

But Galloway has hit back at Sunak’s remarks and says he hopes to discuss the matter at PMQ’s on Wednesday- if the Prime Minister ‘has the guts’.

Speaking to Sky News, Mr Galloway said: ‘You talk as if this is God. We’re talking about little Rishi Sunak, in the fag end of his prime ministership. Don’t talk to me as if he’s come down from the Mount with tablets of stone.’

‘I’m not responsible for whoever declares they endorse me… I’ve never met Mr Griffin and have no intention to,’ he later told Channel 5 News.

‘I don’t know what the glorifying of Hezbollah is all about but maybe he can tell me on Wednesday at Prime Minister’s Questions if he’s got the guts.’

During his speech, Sunak said there are ‘forces here at home trying to tear us apart’.

He said: ‘In recent weeks and months, we have seen a shocking increase in extremist disruption and criminality.

‘What started as protests on our streets have descended into intimidation, threats and planned acts of violence.

‘Jewish children fearful to wear their school uniform lest it reveals their identity. Muslim women abused in the street for the actions of a terrorist group they have no connection with.

‘Now our democracy itself is a target. Council meetings and local events have been stormed. MPs do not feel safe in their homes. Long-standing parliamentary conventions have been upended because of safety concerns.

‘And it’s beyond alarming that last night, the Rochdale by-election returned a candidate that dismisses the horror of what happened on October 7, who glorifies Hezbollah and is endorsed by Nick Griffin, the racist former leader of the BNP.’

The Prime Minister said Islamist extremists and far-right groups are ‘spreading a poison’ and ‘want us to believe that our country and the West more generally is solely responsible for the world’s ills’.
