The family of a dying 84-year-old man have slammed fly-tippers for leaving a festering ‘mountain’ of rubbish outside his home.
Neil Moore, a grandfather-of-three, has been unable to access his house in Far Cotton, Northampton, because of a six-foot-high pile of trash by the rear exit.
His son Paul, 52, says it’s now the third time in six months this has happened.
Among the piles of refuse he says they can see filthy mattresses, bin liners, cardboard, planks of wood and even a large children’s toy car.
The family say they’ve reported the issue to the local council, adding they believe Neil may have been targeted maliciously given his ongoing health issues.
Delivery driver Paul said: ‘My 84-year-old dad’s on end-of-life care for chronic heart failure.
‘He’s bed-bound and needs 24 hour care.

‘If we had to get him out of the house via an ambulance, or God forbid an undertaker, the only way to get him in and out is through the back. And we can’t do that.’
He went on: ‘There must be three tonnes of rubbish. It can’t have all been done in one go.
‘It’s not the first time this has happened. We had the same problem six months ago. It’s ridiculous.

‘This is the biggest pile we’ve seen left so far, it’s disgusting and will no doubt be attracting rats.
‘When it happened twice before it was about half the size of this. It is blocking the only access to my dad’s house.
‘The second time the council came out to clear it up but the first time we had to do it ourselves.
‘Hopefully they will come to sort this out but it’s those responsible who should be ashamed.’

Julie Davenport, an independent councillor representing the Delapre and Rushmere ward, added: ‘I was very saddened to hear that someone had thought it okay to dump so much rubbish against such a poorly man’s access point.
‘I’m told that some of the fly-tipping was left by local people who knew of the health issues of the poorly homeowner, which makes it all seem worse.’
She went on: ‘I get no pleasure out of people getting fined, but how many warnings should we give someone?’
‘How can it be okay in anyone’s mind to dump your rubbish on someone else’s property and expect others to clean up after you?’
