Jurgen Klopp has confirmed Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker has sustained a hamstring injury which rendered him unavailable for Saturday’s game against Brentford.
The Brazil missed last weekend’s home win over Burnley through illness but was in line to make his return at the Gtech Community Stadium.
Klopp will, however, be without his No.1 again with Caoimhin Kelleher set to deputise.
Reacting to the loss of his first choice goalkeeper, Klopp said: ”n yesterday’s training session Ali pulled out ,that’s really not cool.’
‘No, not at the moment,’ added Klopp when asked if he knew how long the 31-year-old would be out for.’It’s a muscle thing and we don’t know yet we have to wait.
That’s always how it is. Maybe tomorrow or the day after tomorrow we will know more.’
Liverpool were also forced to contend without Trent Alexander-Arnold, as well as key midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai.

Conor Bradley, however, returned from a leave of absence following the death of his father, while Mohamed Salah was fit enough to take his place on the bench.
The Egypt international has missed Liverpool’s last eight games in all competitionsfollowing his involvement at the Africa Cup of Nations where he picked up a hamstring injury.
In the absence of several stalwarts, the Reds are likely to rely heavily on the experience of players like Andy Robertson, who himself has recently returned following a lengthy lay-off.

‘We know how difficult it is here, the last couple of years we have struggled [against Brentford away],’ warned Robetson ahead of kick-off.
‘We need to be ready and fight for every ball and if we do that hopefully we will get the three points. The title race, we have had the experience of that but there is not many of us players left [since winning the league in 2020].
‘The young lads do not have any fear, we are excited and we are still included in four trophies and hopefully we are there at the end of the season. It is an extremely strong title race; the league is a lot more competitive.’
