A 16-year-old girl, Olayemi, committed suicide after her mistress’ husband allegedly raped her in Oyo State.
According to the information gathered, Olayemi, usually hawked with her mother at Temidire town in the state until someone complained about her idleness and introduced her parents to a trusted mistress at Eruwa, where she was later enrolled as an apprentice..
The mistress agreed to shelter Olayemi with her parents’ consent while undergoing training because her place of work was quite a distance.
It gathered that her parents were informed one fateful day that Olayemi committed suicide by ingesting some chemicals after she was raped by her mistress’ husband.
