Louis Saha has urged Manchester United to sign the ‘terrific’ Kaoru Mitoma with the Brighton star linked with a move to Old Trafford.
Mitoma has established himself as one of the Premier League’s best wingers since moving to the Amex in 2021, with 27 goal contributions in 66 appearances.
His efforts helped Brighton to a sixth-placed finish last season which saw them qualify for Europe for the first time in their history.
Even more remarkably, the Japan international only cost the Seagulls £2.7million.
Interest in Mitoma is therefore understandably high, with United, Manchester City and Chelsea reportedly interested in his services.
If it were up to Saha, the Red Devils would not hesitate in making a move for the 26-year-old, telling Betfred: ‘He’s a terrific player that shows a lot of composure and unpredictability, so he provides a lot of guarantees for his teammates and his manager.
‘He knows where to position himself, he’s a very hard worker and you can see that he studies the game. You can understand why he can easily adapt when you consider those features and he would be a perfect fit.

‘I’m sure every club will be looking at Mitoma if he’s available because he’s such a big prospect.
‘Regarding whether I’d like to see him move to Old Trafford or not is a really easy question to answer because he’s a terrific player.’
It is highly unlikely that Brighton would want to sell Mitoma come the summer and even if they were he would no doubt cost a fortune, with the Seagulls renowned for selling players for enormous sums.

Just last summer, they sold Moises Caicedo to Chelsea for an initial £100m, withMarc Cucurella (Chelsea, £55m), Ben White (Arsenal, £50m) and Alexis Mac Allister (Liverpool, £35m) some of their other huge sales.
It should also be noted that Mitoma almost exclusively plays on the left-wing, and while United do have forward issues it is the right-side that needs to be addressed with Antony underperforming and Jadon Sancho out of loan after falling out with Erik ten Hag.
