Super Eagles defender, Ola Aina has appreciated the quartet of William Troost-Ekong, Kenneth Omeruo, Kelechi Iheanacho and Terem Moffi for saving him after his penalty miss in the team’s 4-2 penalty shootouts win over South Africa in the semi-final of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
Recall that Aina missed his spot-kick during the shootout as the Nottingham Forest player kicked the ball over the bar.
However, Nigeria goalkeeper, Stanley Nwabali, who was named Man of the Match, saved two penalties during the shootout to help th team qualify for the final.

Reacting after the game, Aina via his official X handle, hails the players for saving his blushes.
“These boys saved me today. I don’t care.”
Nigeria will face hosts Cote d’Ivoire in the final on Sunday.
Meanwhile, Nigeria defeated Ivory Coast 1-0 in the group stage of the competition.
