Manchester United legends Wayne Rooney, David Beckham and Rio Ferdinand have all reached out to Marcus Rashford over his recent partying scandal.
The England international is also set to be offered counselling by the club if he reaches out for help over his lifestyle, according to the Daily Mail.
Rashford was absent from United’s 4-2 victory over Newport on Sunday with Ten Hag insisting before the game that his omission was due to an ‘internal issue’.
That came after Rashford was seen partying in Northern Ireland on Wednesday and Thursday, which subsequently saw him report ill to training on Friday.
It has since emerged that Rashford, who has been fined £650,000 by the club, actually offered to play on Sunday but Erik ten Hag rejected his proposal.
Speaking after the match, Ten Hag faced a series of difficult questions over the situation and refused to confirm if Rashford had lied to his face or not.
United have since confirmed in a statement that Rashford ‘has taken responsibility for his actions’ and that the internal disciplinary matter is ‘now closed’.
