Marcus Rashford has been reprimanded by Manchester United following is partying escapade in Belfast
Marcus Rashford was ‘on a mission to get drunk’ during the Belfast bender which has plunged his Manchester United future into doubt.
The England international was left out of the squad for Sunday’s FA Cup tie at Newport having said he was ill.
It subsequently emerged that the 26-year-old had been out partying on Thursday night, much to the annoyance of Erik ten Hang and Rashford’s United teammates.
The Premier League club released a statement last night after fresh details of Rashford’s escapades in Northern Ireland emerged.
‘Marcus has taken responsibility for his actions,’ it read. ‘This has been dealt with as an internal disciplinary matter, which is now closed’
Rashford has returned to training and is understood to be in contention for Thursday night’s Premier League trip to Wolves.
Ten Hag is likely to take a dim view of the accusations made by waitress Sarah Adair, who claims to have partied with the footballer until the early hours of the morning.

‘I’m not surprised he missed training the next day given how late he got to bed and how much he’d had to drink,’ the 30-year-old told The Sun.
“They were drinking tequila and passing around a bottle of Patron and he also ordered a round of limoncello. He was clearly on a mission to get drunk.’
She added: ‘He was clearly on a mission to have a big night. It’s not like it wasn’t planned from the start. I don’t know how he didn’t realise he would be caught out.

‘Everyone was taking pictures of him during the night out.
Before leaving Rashford and his pals, Sarah claims she was asked if she knew of any nightclubs which would stay open after 3am closing time if he paid them enough cash.

Miss Adair, however, says she got a very different impression of the striker, saying: ‘Marcus was confident but also seemed a bit shy. It’s as though he doesn’t really know who he is.
‘He gives out the vibe he thinks, ‘I’m a footballer, I’ve got loads of money and can do whatever I want’. His friends treated him like he was a god.’
