Kidnapped Nigerian Businessman Rescued In South Africa, Suspects Arrested

A Nigerian businessman has been successfully rescued from kidnappers by the South Africa Police Service (SAPS) anti-kidnapping task team, a statement issued on Thursday by the SAPS Office of the National Commissioner has revealed.

The victim, a 48-year-old man whose identity remains undisclosed, was abducted on Wednesday, January 10, 2024, in Fordsburg, Johannesburg.

Remarkably, within less than 24 hours, the SAPS team tracked down both the victim and the suspects to a lodge in Ferndale, Randburg, on Thursday evening.

The statement further detailed that six vehicles, believed to be used by the suspects, were seized and impounded for further investigation.

Additionally, money withdrawn from the businessman’s bank account during the ordeal has been successfully recovered.

The quick and decisive action by the SAPS anti-kidnapping task team resulted in the successful rescue of the kidnapped Nigerian businessman, showcasing the effectiveness of law enforcement efforts in addressing such criminal activities.

Details regarding the identities of the suspects and the circumstances surrounding the abduction were not been disclosed in the statement.
