MTN Nigeria Communications (MTNN) has retained the title of the most compliant listed company at the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX) Made of Africa Awards.
The NGX Made of Africa Award recognises outstanding companies and individuals within the capital market ecosystem who exhibit exceptional performance in value delivery and sustainable impact, playing pivotal roles in strengthening the Nigerian and African capital markets. These awards also seek to commend adherence to high ethical standards, compliance with The Exchange’s rules and regulations.
The Most Compliant Listed Company award is bestowed upon the listed company with the highest level of compliance with the Rules of the Exchange (Issuers’ Rules) without incurring any penalties during the review period.

MTN Nigeria was listed on the NGX in 2019. Since its listing, the company has become notable for its dedication to complying with the rules of the Exchange, which are designed to ensure that the market operates credibly and transparently. This commitment culminated in MTN Nigeria securing the award for the Most Compliant Listed Company by the NGX, not only in 2022 but also in 2023. This consecutive recognition further reinforces MTN’s steadfast dedication to fostering a world class exchange, underscoring credibility and transparency as core elements in every facet of its operations.
The other winners at this year’s event include VFD Group as the best fund manager with the largest listed fund size; CardinalStone as the best solicitor in terms of value of deals; The Lagos State Government and the Debt Management Office (DMO) were recognised for the State Government with the Largest Subnational Debt Instrument Issuance and Capital Market Excellence Award, respectively. Further, Chapel Hill Denham was recognised in two categories, Cross-Border Trade Facilitator of the Year and Fund Manager with the Largest Listed Fund Size, while Cordros Capital and Kairos Capital both won the award for the Issuing House with the Highest Number of Primary Market Transactions (Equity Category).
