Mikel Arteta will push for Arsenal to sign Bournemouth striker Dominic Solanke if they miss out on Ivan Toney, according to reports.
Arsenal are in the race to sign Toney in the January transfer window but will face competition from both Chelsea and Tottenham for the Brentford striker.
Brentford are also holding out for a significant fee in the region of £80 million for the 27-year-old, who scored 19 goals in the Premier League last season and will return to football in January after serving his eight-month ban for breaking the Football Association’s rules on betting.
According to the Daily Star, Arteta is considering alternative options to Toney and Bournemouth striker Solanke is on the Arsenal manager’s shortlist.
The report claims that Bournemouth would be open to selling Solanke but would demand a £50m fee for the 26-year-old.

Solanke has been in excellent form this season with eight goals in the Premier League so far.
He joined Bournemouth in a £19 million deal from Liverpool in January 2019.

Solanke was rewarded in September with a new four-year contract which keeps him tied to Bournemouth until 2023.
Arsenal, meanwhile, are also targeting Napoli striker Victor Osimhen but the Nigeria international is set to sign a new deal with the Serie A champions which includes a €130 million (£112m) release clause.
