The Coalition of South East Youth Leaders, COSEYL, has expressed shock over the demise of a former governor of Anambra State, Dr Chukwuemeka Ezeife.
DAILY POST reports that the elder statesman died on Thursday in Abuja at the age of 85.
Reacting, COSEYL, in a statement issued on Saturday by its President General, Goodluck Ibem, said the death was painful.
The statement recalled some positive contributions the deceased made in the development of the region before his death.
The coalition opined that the late former governor was a great man of honour and integrity who will be greatly missed in the region.
Part of the statement reads, “It is painful that he left us at a time when his positive contributions to the growth and development of the nation is greatly needed. Truly, an Iroko has fallen.
“We, the entire Igbo Youths, mourn this great of substance and honour as he goes home to meet his maker.
“Ndigbo will greatly miss Dr Ezeife as he takes the final bow to meet his maker”.
