Serhou Guirassy is edging ever closer to a January move with Borussia Dortmund joining Manchester United and Newcastle in the hunt for the striker, according to reports.
The Stuttgart frontman has been in sensational form in the Bundesliga so far this season, netting 16 goals in just 10 starts – a tally only Harry Kane has bettered, though he has played more minutes.
Incredibly, Guirassy is averaging a goal every 54 minutes currently (Kane averages a goal every 63 minutes) and he has helped fire Stuttgart up to third place in the table, just one point behind Bayern Munich.
Despite the prospect of competing for silverware with his current club, the 27-year-old looks increasingly likely to leave with a host of sides ready to activate a relatively modest release clause.
Guirassy is available for just £15.2million from January onwards and, according to German newspaper Bild, he has rejected an attempt from Stuttgart to remove the clause.
The Bundesliga outfit feel Guirassy is worth far more given his current hot streak and had hoped to buy out the clause or offer the striker a new deal which removed it, but he is keen to secure a big move if one materialises when the transfer window reopens.
Manchester United and Newcastle are both keen, with the two top-four chasing sides struggling for goals up top – the former are still waiting for marquee summer signing Rasmus Hojlund to open his account in the Premier League.

Guirassy is viewed as a low-risk, bargain signing that does not come around very often, especially in January, even if his goal tally may be a little inflated.
The Guinean striker has netted his 16 goals off just 11.8 xG (Expected Goals), a rate that is unlikely to be sustainable, which is why interested clubs have been extensively scouting the forward to see if he passes the eye test too.
According to Sport Bild, Dortmund have now also joined the race to sign Guirassy and have watched him up close several times, including twice in matches against BVB in the league and cup.

While it remains to be seen if Guirassy’s preference is a more lucrative move to the Premier League, Dortmund would also be an appealing option.
BVB actually have a bit of an advantage in any deal to sign the forward, with the release clause being lower for domestic clubs than foreign clubs, while they would also be prepared to double his salary.
He is also represented by the agent Moussa Sissoko, who has worked extensively with Dortmund in the past and has good connections with the club’s hierarchy, having brokered deals for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Ousmane Dembele.
Manchester United and Newcastle could blow Dortmund out of the water with any salary package, however, while Tottenham and West Ham are both rumoured to be interested too.
