Mikel Arteta has confirmed Gabriel Jesus has suffered a muscle injury which will rule him out for a couple of weeks at least.
The Brazil international took the man of the match honours in midweek with his best play of the season so far, scoring and assisting in a vital Champions League win at Sevilla.
Jesus, however, limped off during the closing stages with what appeared to be a hamstring injury that had rendered him a doubt for tomorrow’s game against struggling Sheffield United.
Asked for an update on the Arsenal No.9 Mikel Arteta said: ‘The scan showed there is a muscle injury and we might lose him for a few weeks again.
‘With Gabi I cannot give you any timeframe because he always surprises us.
‘He had quite a lot of load in the last few weeks with the national team and those games which he hasn’t had for a long, long time. It’s bad news for us.’
