One of the Israeli women freed by Hamas last night has recalled her capture and 17 days in captivity inside the ‘spiderweb’ network of tunnels in Gaza.
Yocheved Lifshitz was taken on the back of a motorbike with her legs on one side and her hands on the other after the gunmen launched an onslaught on southern Israel.
During a press conference rom a hospital in Tel Aviv, the 85-year-old said she was ‘taken through ploughed fields’ and hit by fighters with ‘sticks’ as she was taken into the besieged territory.
She was speaking in Hebrew, but her daughter Sharone Lifschitz translated for the crowd of reporters.
