The workers were left hanging when scaffolding collapsed
This is the terrifying moment construction workers were left dangling helplessly from an office building after scaffolding collapsed.
They were left 500ft in the air on the high-rise building development in São Paulo, Brazil, earlier this week.
A person died during the incident but it is not known whether they were struck by debris or fell.
The other workers left dangling were later rescued by an on-site crane.
Police dispatched a helicopter to the scene and ten fire engines were also sent.
Lidiane Dias, an eyewitness, said the trapped workers were rescued after ‘a few minutes’.
‘The noise was very loud, a lot of things fell. The structure came down. We couldn’t see where the debris fell because it was inside the construction site,’ she said.

Authorities in São Paulo said they are investigating the case.
Eight people had to be rescued from a cable car left dangling 1,200 feet above a ravine in northwest Pakistan in August.
Six children and two adults were stuck inside the chairlift for more than 10 hours after a rope snapped as their group travelled to school in Battagram, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, on Tuesday morning.
There had been confusion over how many remain stranded inside the cable car as conflicting reports emerged from the rural region.
