Zamfara Police Command rescues 2 abducted students, 1 staff of Federal University Gusau

Zamfara State Police Command said a group of armed men suspected to be bandits, with dangerous weapons, on Saturday, invaded students’ rented house on the outskirts of an area of Sabon Garin in Damba and abducted two students and a staff of the Federal University Gusau at gunpoint.

This was contained in a statement signed and issued to newsmen in Gusau, the State capital by the State Police Command’s spokesman, Yazeed Abdullahi.

“On receipt of the information, the striking force of the Command mobilized for a search and rescue operation which yielded a very good and positive result as all the victims were rescued unhurt, operations are still on with the view of arresting the fleeting abductors”, the statement added.

The statement further stated that the Command, under the leadership of Mohammed Shehu Dalijan reassured all people of the State that it would do its best in protecting lives and properties and also provide a conducive atmosphere for learning in the state.

He also urged the people of the state to furnish the command with credible and timely information on the activities of criminals to salvage the state from all forms of criminality.
