Professor Nneoyi Egbe, who is the Bishop of Calabar Diocese of the Anglican Church, has disagreed with those who see the ongoing conflict between the Palestinians backed by the Hamas terrorist group as a religious war.
He said it is not necessarily a Muslim thing but a terror attack by terror gangs.
In an interview with DAILY POST in Calabar, the cleric said, “My personal take on the conflict is that it is a terror attack by Hamas and not necessarily a Muslim thing.”
He stressed that global leaders should rise to dissuade both sides against conflict as the gangs are using Islam as a cover.
“The world needs to rise up against terrorism. Hamas, ISIS, Hezbollah and all the terror groups are only masquerading under Islam to kill innocent people.
“Every right thinking human being will condemn terrorism, and so do I,” he added.
