Jack’s mother, Lisa, told the Jewish News she had last heard from her son at around 5.30am on Saturday morning, via a text message.
He was working as part of the security team at the event near the village of Re’im when Hamas attacked from nearby Gaza, Lisa said.
She added: ‘He was doing security at this rave and called me at 4.30am to say all these rockets were flying over.
‘Then, at about 5.30am, he texted to say, “signal very bad, everything OK, will keep you updated I promise you,” and that he loves me.’
Lisa added her son lived in Ma’alot, a city in northern Israel, having moved there permanently two years ago.
More than 700 people have been killed and at least 3,000 injured on both sides after Palestine launched an attack on Israel.
Israel Defence Forces (IDF) hit back with air strikes in Gaza, which so far have killed 198 people and injured 1,610.
